Privacy & Identity Theft

You should make your children aware that they mustn’t reveal any information that allows a stranger access to their or your personal or financial information.

Tending to be more trusting and vulnerable than adults, children could be tricked into doing so, being told by the stranger that “it’s OK”.

Such private information could include actual login details, contact details, addresses or passwords – or words or names your kids use to prove their identity or on profiles, such as mother’s maiden name, football club, school, even the name of their teacher. Armed with private information, fraudsters can easily apply for credit in your child’s or your name, destroying their or your credit rating.
